New Jersey Medicaid is discontinuing three local procedure and modifier codes effective April 1, 2004, requiring providers to switch to equivalent national CPT and HCPCS codes for all claims submissions.
Action Required
By April 1, 2004: Billing team must update billing software to replace deleted New Jersey local codes with national equivalents: use S5102 instead of W9002, 97799 instead of Z0270, and 92507 instead of Z0300. Update encounter forms and staff training materials. Claims using the deleted codes will be rejected after the effective date.
