Summary
New Jersey Medicaid is deleting certain local procedure codes (Z1710, Z1715, Z1730, Z1735) and modifier WT, effective April 1, 2004. Providers must switch to national replacement codes or stop using deleted codes entirely for Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare claims.
Action Required
By April 1, 2004: Billing team must update system to replace deleted NJ local codes - use S9123 with EP modifier for Z1710, S9123 with 22 and EP modifiers for Z1730, S9124 with EP modifier for Z1735, and completely stop using Z1715 and WT modifier. Update encounter forms and billing software rules for Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare claims.
