Summary
New Jersey added two pharmaceutical manufacturers (KVK-TECH, INC. and HERITAGE PHARMACEUTICALS) to the PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled) drug rebate program. Providers dispensing medications from these manufacturers must recognize them as eligible for PAAD coverage effective February 28, 2007.
Action Required
By February 28, 2007: Pharmacy billing team must update internal drug formulary and billing system to recognize labeler codes 10702 (KVK-TECH, INC.) and 23155 (HERITAGE PHARMACEUTICALS) as eligible PAAD manufacturers. Ensure claims for legend drugs, diabetic testing supplies, and insulin from these manufacturers are processed under PAAD coverage rather than rejected. Note: This policy is from March 2007 and is significantly outdated. Verify current PAAD manufacturer lists with New Jersey Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services at (609) 588-2724 before implementation, as this manufacturer roster may have changed substantially.
