Summary
The New Jersey PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled) program has added five new pharmaceutical manufacturers to its Drug Rebate Program. Providers must recognize these new Manufacturers' Labeler Codes when processing prescriptions for PAAD-eligible patients to ensure proper billing and rebate eligibility.
Action Required
By July 2007: Pharmacy billing team must update pharmacy management system to recognize the five newly added Manufacturers' Labeler Codes (10370, 54396, 59417, 25682, 13632) in the PAAD drug rebate database. Verify that prescriptions from Anchen Pharmaceuticals (10370), Savient Pharmaceuticals (54396), Shire US (59417), Alexion Pharmaceuticals (25682), and Rosemont Pharmaceuticals (13632) are properly coded for PAAD rebate processing. Update internal documentation and staff training materials. Note that PAAD covers only legend drugs, diabetic testing supplies, and insulin. Contact the Chief of Pharmaceutical Services at (609) 588-2724 or Unisys Provider Services at (800) 776-6334 with questions. Failure to update system coding may result in missed rebates or claim processing delays for PAAD beneficiaries.
