Summary
Two new pharmaceutical manufacturers (Cumberland Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and NextWave Pharmaceuticals, Inc.) have been added to the New Jersey PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled) Drug Rebate Program. Providers must recognize these new labeler codes (66220 and 24478) for PAAD-covered prescriptions effective July 3, 2007.
Action Required
By September 2007 (newsletter distribution): Pharmacy and billing staff should update internal pharmacy benefit management systems and reference materials to recognize labeler codes 66220 (Cumberland Pharmaceuticals) and 24478 (NextWave Pharmaceuticals) as PAAD-eligible manufacturers. File this newsletter numerically behind the Newsletter tab (Blue Tab marked '5') for future reference. No immediate claim processing changes required, but staff should be aware that prescriptions from these manufacturers may now qualify for PAAD coverage where they did not previously.
