Summary
New Jersey will auto-assign Aged, Blind and Disabled (ABD) Medicaid clients in Burlington, Cape May, Essex and Mercer Counties to HMOs starting July 2008. Providers must join HMO networks to continue treating these patients or risk losing them.
Action Required
By June 17, 2008: Contact all Medicaid HMOs listed in the policy to apply for provider network participation if not already enrolled. Inform ABD Medicaid patients in Burlington, Cape May, Essex and Mercer Counties which HMO networks you participate in so they can choose accordingly. Patients not enrolled in an HMO where you're a network provider will need to find new providers or you'll lose them as patients.
