Summary
Effective July 1, 2009, the New Jersey Division of Medical Assistance & Health Services will no longer accept local procedure code X0250 for Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare fee-for-service claims. This code has been deleted entirely with no replacement code available. Medical suppliers must stop billing this code immediately for all claims with service dates on or after the effective date.
Action Required
By June 30, 2009: Billing team must remove or deactivate local code X0250 from all billing system configurations, encounter forms, and claim templates used for New Jersey Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare fee-for-service claims. Verify that no claims with dates of service on or after July 1, 2009 are submitted using X0250, as they will be denied. Contact Unisys Provider Services at 1-800-776-6334 if clarification is needed on billing alternatives for services previously reported under this code. Retain this newsletter for compliance reference.
