A new HMO, Healthfirst Health Plan of New Jersey, will begin serving NJ FamilyCare/Medicaid clients in five counties starting August 1, 2009. Providers can join their network by calling the provided number, expanding Medicaid managed care options in the state.
Action Required
Before August 1, 2009: Providers interested in expanding their Medicaid patient base should call Healthfirst NJ at 1-866-889-2523 to apply for network participation. Billing teams should update their payer lists to include Healthfirst NJ as a new Medicaid HMO option for patients in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union Counties.
