Summary

By June 1, 2010: Pharmacy billing team must implement NDC validation procedures in the billing system to cross-reference all reported NDCs against current FDA-maintained records before claim submission. Configure the billing software to flag or reject non-covered NDCs prior to transmission to New Jersey Medicaid. Train pharmacy staff to verify NDC accuracy on all prescriptions. Establish a process to contact prescribers immediately when non-covered NDCs are identified. Failure to implement these controls will result in automatic claim denials with Error Code 2119 and loss of reimbursement.
