Summary
New Jersey Medicaid nursing facilities must review and update patient payment amounts on billing forms to reflect the 3.6% Social Security COLA increase effective January 1, 2012. Facilities need to compare their current patient liability amounts with the updated COLA calculations and submit corrections to Molina if differences are $1.00 or more.
Action Required
By January 1, 2012: Nursing facility billing teams must review the enclosed COLA UPDATE REPORT and compare NET INC AFTER amounts with current PATIENT PAYMENT amounts in Block #35 of TAD form MCNH-117. If difference is $1.00 or more: (1) Update PATIENT PAYMENT amount on TAD form and submit to Molina at P.O. Box 4805, Trenton, NJ 08650-4805, and (2) Inform County Welfare Agency that new PR1 form is needed. If difference is less than $1.00: Update TAD form only, do not contact County Welfare Agency. EMC submitters should update PATIENT PAYMENT field electronically instead of submitting paper forms.
