Summary
New Jersey Medicaid is implementing enhanced claims editing that requires all provider NPIs on claims to be registered with NJ Medicaid and properly linked to Medicaid Provider IDs. Claims will be denied if NPIs are not registered or if the NPI-Provider ID relationship is not documented.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must verify all provider NPIs are registered with NJ Medicaid and properly linked to Medicaid Provider IDs. For any missing relationships, submit provider letterhead with Medicaid Provider ID and NPPES screen print to Molina Medicaid Solutions at P.O. Box 4804, Trenton, NJ 08650 or fax to 609-584-1192. Update billing procedures to ensure correct NPI is reported for each Medicaid Provider ID on all claims. Failure to comply will result in claim denials with error codes 1404-1427.
