Summary
Effective July 1, 2015, the New Jersey Medicaid transportation broker will no longer provide livery transportation to and from partial care programs for independent clinics. Independent clinics can continue billing transportation using Z0330 ($4.50 one way) and may now add A0425UC ($2.50 one way) for a combined maximum of $7.00 one way. Partial hospital programs are not affected.
Action Required
By June 30, 2015: Billing team must update billing system to enable dual billing for transportation services to independent clinic partial care programs. Ensure Z0330 continues to be billed at $4.50 one way, and add A0425UC to bill the new mileage flat fee at $2.50 one way. Verify that claims for partial care transportation can process both codes together for a $7.00 one way total. Update provider documentation and encounter forms to reflect the new billing structure. Stop submitting transportation requests to the Medicaid transportation broker for partial care services only (note: higher mode transportation and bus passes remain covered by broker). Failure to update billing logic may result in underbilling or claim denials.
