Summary
New Jersey Medicaid has updated the Office Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) program to allow OBAT Navigators to be enrolled as servicing providers. Providers must add navigators to their group to bill for enhanced MAT services, and navigators need NPIs to bill specific codes.
Action Required
For NJ providers offering addiction treatment: Complete navigator addendum to add navigator to provider group via www.njmmis.com. Navigator must obtain NPI number at https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov or call 1-800-465-3203. Use navigator's NPI as servicing provider on all navigator service claims (H0006 codes). Ensure at least one face-to-face encounter with navigator per billing period, and provider must see patient monthly for MAT services.
