Summary

New Jersey Medicaid (NJ FamilyCare) has implemented temporary COVID-19 emergency provider enrollment procedures, including an online provisional enrollment form, waived application fees, expedited enrollment for Medicare-enrolled or out-of-state licensed providers, and paused revalidation requirements. This accelerates credentialing for providers seeking to bill NJ Medicaid during the public health emergency.

Action Required

Action needed
By April 1, 2020 (retroactive): Billing team and credentialing staff must be aware that NEW NJ FamilyCare provider applications received on or after this date use the expedited 'Public Health Crisis Provisional Enrollment' process. If your practice is enrolling NEW providers in NJ Medicaid, submit the provisional enrollment form online to njmmisproviderenrollment@dxc.com, via fax to 609-584-1192, or by mail to DXC Provider Enrollment Unit, PO Box 4804, Trenton, NJ 08650-4804. No enrollment fees are required (effective April 27, 2020). Providers with active Medicare enrollment or valid licenses in other states may enroll immediately without standard NJ Medicaid credentialing delays. Flag that provider revalidation is paused—do not schedule revalidation renewals until the state restarts the process. Retain this newsletter for reference as the state will notify when normal enrollment and revalidation procedures resume.
