Summary
New Jersey Medicaid is requiring providers to use updated Facility Code values for telehealth claims effective May 11, 2023. Use Facility Code '10' when telehealth is provided in a patient's home, and use the updated Facility Code '02' for telehealth provided at other locations. This applies to both Fee-For-Service and encounter claims.
Action Required
By May 11, 2023: Billing team must update the billing system to use Facility Code '10' for all telehealth services delivered in a patient's home and Facility Code '02' for telehealth services provided at locations other than the patient's home. Providers must be trained to ensure they select the correct facility code on encounter forms and claims. Update all telehealth billing templates and workflows to reflect the new codes. Claims submitted with incorrect or missing facility codes may be denied or delayed. Verify system settings are configured to require appropriate facility code selection based on telehealth location type.
