Summary
New Jersey Medicaid is requiring all NJMMIS.com users to update and validate their contact information (email and/or phone number) to prepare for multi-factor authentication (MFA) deployment by late 2026. Users will be prompted at every login until they comply, and access will be blocked after MFA goes live for non-compliant users. Primary Account Administrators must also ensure all staff have individual sub-accounts rather than shared logins for HIPAA compliance.
Action Required
Immediately: All providers and billing staff who access NJMMIS.com must update their user profiles with valid contact information (email address in valid format and/or 10-digit phone number). Before late 2026 MFA deployment: Primary Account Administrators must audit and manage all sub-accounts in NJMMIS.com to ensure no shared logins exist and each staff member has an individual account (HIPAA requirement). Complete user information validation now to avoid access denial when MFA is activated. Front desk/administrative staff should verify that their contact information has been entered into NJMMIS.com and confirm with their Primary Account Administrator that individual sub-accounts are set up. Failure to provide contact information will result in login denial once MFA is deployed.
