Summary
Diabetes self-management training services are not covered for adults receiving limited benefit packages under this Medicaid program. Providers must request exceptions through the Exceptions Process program before providing these services to participants with limited benefits.
Action Required
Before providing diabetes self-management training services: Billing team must verify patient's benefit package type. For patients with limited benefit packages, submit exception request through the Exceptions Process program prior to service delivery. Review Section 13.60.B of physician provider manual for service limitations. Services provided without exception approval for limited benefit patients will not be covered.
