Summary
Physician practices must transition to ICD-10 coding by October 1, 2014. Free educational conference calls are being offered by Missouri and Kansas medical associations in late February and March 2014 to help practices prepare for this mandatory coding change.
Action Required
By October 1, 2014: All billing staff must complete transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 coding system. Attend free educational conference calls on February 27, March 6, and March 13, 2014 from 12:00-1:00 PM. Update billing software, train staff on new coding requirements, and check Missouri State Medical Association website for session materials and dial-in information. Failure to implement ICD-10 by deadline will result in claim processing issues.
