Summary
MO HealthNet (Missouri Medicaid) updated their Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system, removing the option to directly speak to a specialist by pressing '0' during the main menu. Providers must now go through one of the main options first before being transferred to a specialist.
Action Required
Immediately: Update staff training on MO HealthNet IVR system usage. Staff should know they can no longer press '0' to speak directly to a specialist - they must select a main menu option first, then request transfer. Ensure NPI number is available when calling (573) 751-2896. Review provider manual before calling and limit calls to 3-4 minutes with 3 questions maximum.
