Summary
MO HealthNet Division is auto-approving chest CT scans (codes 71250, 71260, 71270) for COVID-19 related diagnoses and waiving co-payments. Providers must still submit prior authorization requests until the system is updated to automatically waive these requirements.
Action Required
Immediately: Continue submitting prior authorization requests for chest CT codes 71250, 71260, and 71270 when billed with COVID-19 diagnosis codes B34.2, B97.29, J20.8, J22, J40, J80, J98.8, Z03.818, and Z20.828 using Cyber Access web tool or call (800) 392-8030 option 5. Update billing team that these auths will be auto-approved for 90 days and co-payments are waived. Monitor for system update that will eliminate prior auth requirement.
