Summary
Missouri Medicaid (MO HealthNet) has expanded teledentistry coverage in response to COVID-19, allowing dental providers to deliver services via phone from patients' homes using new CDT codes D9995 and D9996. The policy waives several requirements including established patient relationships, copayments, and in-state licensing requirements during the pandemic.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must add CDT codes D9995 ($14.82) and D9996 ($14.82) to billing system for teledentistry services. Update encounter forms to include these codes for synchronous and asynchronous teledentistry visits. Do not bill originating site facility fees when patient is at home. Ensure billing system can handle waived copayments for teledentistry services during COVID-19.
