Summary
MO HealthNet will continue to cover elective tubal ligation procedures for pregnant participants even if the procedures need to be rescheduled due to COVID-19. This coverage guarantee also applies to providers contracted with Managed Care Organizations.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team should note that elective sterilization procedures for MO HealthNet participants can be rescheduled without loss of coverage during COVID-19. Update scheduling protocols to inform pregnant patients that coverage will be maintained if procedures are delayed. No billing system changes required.
