Summary
MO HealthNet Division (Missouri Medicaid) is reinstating the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential requirement for all technicians providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, effective immediately. The RBT requirement was temporarily waived during COVID-19 when testing centers were closed, but now that testing is available again, the credential is once again mandatory.
Action Required
Immediately: Verify all technicians providing ABA services have current RBT credentials before submitting claims to Missouri Medicaid. Billing team must update provider credentialing records and stop billing for services provided by non-RBT credentialed technicians. Claims for ABA services by uncredentialed technicians will be denied. Contact mhd.covid-19@dss.mo.gov for questions about accommodations.
