Summary
MO HealthNet (Missouri Medicaid) has discontinued its temporary COVID-19 policy that allowed delayed coverage for elective sterilization procedures and Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC). Elective procedures can now be performed normally, and providers must ensure participants receive these services while still Medicaid-eligible.

Immediately: Billing team should resume normal processing of sterilization and LARC procedure claims for Missouri Medicaid patients. Providers should schedule any previously delayed elective sterilization or LARC procedures for eligible Medicaid participants. No longer hold or delay billing for these procedures due to COVID-19 restrictions.
