Summary
MO HealthNet now requires pre-certification for all standard walkers, walkers with trunk support, walkers with variable wheel resistance, and heavy duty walkers. Rollator walkers are no longer covered and cannot be billed under HCPCS E0143 or E0149.
Action Required
Immediately: Stop billing rollator walkers under HCPCS E0143 and E0149 to MO HealthNet as they are not covered. For all other walker types (standard, trunk support, variable wheel resistance, heavy duty), obtain pre-certification before billing by calling DME Pre-Certification Hotline (800-392-8030 option 2) or using CyberAccess. Update billing system to require prior auth for all walker claims to MO HealthNet. Claims without pre-certification will be denied.
