Summary
Effective May 12, 2023, COVID-19 vaccine administration billing changes from the MO HealthNet Fee-for-Service program to Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) for participants enrolled in MCOs. Participants not enrolled in MCOs will continue billing to the Fee-for-Service program.
Action Required
By May 12, 2023: Billing team must update system to bill COVID-19 vaccine administration to the appropriate MCO for participants enrolled in managed care plans, rather than to MO HealthNet Fee-for-Service. Verify patient MCO enrollment status before billing. Continue billing to MO HealthNet Fee-for-Service only for participants not enrolled in an MCO.
