Summary
Effective May 12, 2023, MO HealthNet Division will no longer cover COVID-19 testing for participants in Extended/Uninsured Women's Health Services programs (Medicaid eligibility codes 80 and 89). This ends coverage that was provided during the COVID-19 public health emergency which expires May 11, 2023.
Action Required
By May 12, 2023: Billing team must update system to deny COVID-19 testing claims for patients with MO HealthNet eligibility codes 80 and 89. Update front desk staff to inform these patients that COVID-19 testing is no longer covered and they will be responsible for payment. Verify patient eligibility codes before ordering COVID-19 tests.
