Summary
MO HealthNet (Missouri Medicaid) has excluded several pharmaceutical manufacturers from the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program effective July 1, 2023. Claims with NDCs from excluded manufacturers including Akorn Operating Company LLC and others will be denied with 'Product/Service Not Covered' message. However, Lupin manufacturer (labeler codes 27437, 43386, 68180) remains covered after CMS rescinded their termination.
Action Required
Immediately: Pharmacy billing team must stop submitting claims for NDCs beginning with labeler codes 50383, 17478, 61748, 49411, 76478 (Akorn Operating Company LLC), 63868 (Chain Drug Marketing Association), and 67405 (Harris Pharmaceutical) for Missouri Medicaid patients with dates of service July 1, 2023 and after. Order alternative manufacturers for affected medications as MO HealthNet cannot provide overrides. Continue processing claims for Lupin products (labeler codes 27437, 43386, 68180) as these remain covered.
