Summary
Effective January 15, 2024, MO HealthNet (Missouri Medicaid) will no longer allow billing exceptions for inhalers provided to patients with COVID-19 diagnosis or exposure in hospital and clinic settings. Providers must follow the standard Take Home Drugs and Supplies policy in section 2.2 of the Pharmacy manual.
Action Required
By January 15, 2024: Billing team must stop billing MO HealthNet for inhalers provided to COVID-19 patients or exposed patients in hospital/clinic settings. Review Take Home Drugs and Supplies policy in section 2.2 of Pharmacy manual for compliant billing practices. Update billing protocols to remove COVID-19 exception for inhaler claims.
