Summary
MO HealthNet now covers automatic external defibrillator garments through their DME pre-certification process. Both the prescribing physician and dispensing DME provider must complete separate steps in a two-step pre-certification process before the garment can be dispensed.
Action Required
Immediately: Providers prescribing automatic external defibrillator garments must initiate pre-certification requests by calling (800) 392-8030, option 2, or using the CyberAccessSM portal. DME providers must then access the physician-initiated pre-certification to complete the process. Both steps must be completed before dispensing the garment or claims will be denied.
