Summary
Effective October 1, 2024, MO HealthNet (Missouri Medicaid) will no longer cover Tirosint and other levothyroxine products manufactured by Ibsa Pharma Inc. and Yaral Pharma Inc. because these manufacturers are leaving the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program. Claims for these products will be denied with no override options available.
Action Required
Immediately: Identify all Missouri Medicaid patients currently prescribed Tirosint or other levothyroxine products from Ibsa Pharma Inc. and Yaral Pharma Inc. Contact providers to switch these patients to alternative levothyroxine manufacturers before October 1, 2024. Update pharmacy ordering to exclude these manufacturers for MO HealthNet patients. Claims submitted for these products after October 1, 2024 will be denied with no override available.
