Summary
Missouri HealthNet has launched automated spend-down processing that can activate participant coverage in as little as one business day when providers submit charges using the online MO HealthNet Spend Down Provider form. This allows participants to access services and pick up prescriptions faster, and providers can begin billing as soon as the day after submitting spend-down charges.

Immediately: Billing team should begin using the online MO HealthNet Spend Down Provider form for all Missouri Medicaid participants with spend-down requirements to expedite coverage activation. Train staff on the new automated process and update workflows to check for coverage activation the day after submitting spend-down charges.
