Summary

Effective April 1, 2026, MO HealthNet Fee-For-Service Dental Program will now cover stainless-steel crown codes D2930 and D2931 for adults aged 21 and older. These codes were previously limited to children aged 20 and younger, blind, pregnant, and nursing home participants. Reimbursement rates and quantity limitations will match those currently allowed for these other populations.

Action Required

Action needed
By March 31, 2026: Billing team must update billing system edits and fee schedules to allow CDT codes D2930 and D2931 for adult patients aged 21 and older in MO HealthNet FFS claims. Verify the MHD Fee Schedule and Dental Manual for specific quantity limits and reimbursement amounts applicable to this population. Front desk staff should update patient eligibility verification processes to confirm coverage for adults. Staff should be aware that MO HealthNet Managed Care plans may have different requirements (such as prior authorization) — contact each MC health plan directly to confirm applicability. For questions or claim submission guidance, providers may contact Provider Communications at (573) 751-2896 or toll-free (833) 222-7916.
