Summary
DME providers must now maintain proof-of-delivery documentation per Section 2.11 of the DME Manual to verify equipment/supplies were received by participants. Failure to maintain proper documentation will result in claim denials or post-payment recoupment.
Action Required
By April 1, 2026: Billing team must implement proof-of-delivery documentation procedures per Section 2.11 of the DME Manual for all durable medical equipment claims. Establish workflow to obtain and maintain delivery confirmations from patients. Train staff on new documentation requirements. Claims without proper proof of delivery will be denied or subject to recoupment.
