Summary
Effective January 7, 2022, all CRNPs and physician assistants must register with Pennsylvania Department of Human Services to provide services for UPMC Health Plan members. Claims from unregistered physician extenders will be denied according to DHS guidelines.
Action Required
By January 7, 2022: All CRNPs and physician assistants must register with PA DHS through their online portal or by calling UPMC Health Plan Provider Services at 1-866-918-1595. Credentialing team must verify registration status for all physician extenders. Claims will be denied for services rendered by unregistered CRNPs and PAs.
