Summary
Alfasigma USA Inc. discontinued Zelnorm (tegaserod) in the U.S. marketplace effective June 30, 2022. This medication was used to treat irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) in adult women younger than 65 years old and is no longer available for prescribing or dispensing.
Action Required
Immediately: Pharmacy and billing teams must stop processing any claims for Zelnorm (tegaserod). Providers should be notified that this medication is no longer available and alternative IBS-C treatments should be considered for affected patients. Update drug formulary systems to reflect discontinuation.
