Summary
All service locations must complete PROMISe ID enrollment requirements for UPMC Medicaid, CHIP, and Community HealthChoices patients to avoid claim denials starting September 1, 2023. Providers must enroll every service location with DHS, obtain PROMISe IDs, and maintain revalidation every 5 years.
Action Required
Immediately: All providers seeing UPMC Medicaid/CHIP patients must: 1) Enroll every service location with Department of Human Services (DHS) to obtain PROMISe ID (Medicaid ID), 2) Log into PROMISe system to check revalidation dates for each location, 3) Submit revalidation applications at least 60 days before expiration dates, 4) Enroll any unlisted service locations in PROMISe system. Contact DHS at 1-800-537-8862 (option 2, option 4, option 2) for enrollment questions. Failure to complete enrollment will result in claim denials for all UPMC Medicaid patients.
