Summary
Beginning January 17, 2026, CareSource (Georgia Medicaid) will implement enhanced claims editing that may deny claims billed with specific revenue codes (0500-0509, 0583, 0660-0669, 0906-0907, 0931-0932, 1000-1006, 2100-2109, 3100-3109) when submitted with bill types 0120-012Z, 0130-013Z, or 0140-014Z. The billing team must audit current claims and update billing workflows to ensure compliance before the effective date.
Action Required
By January 17, 2026: Billing team must (1) audit all active claims currently using revenue codes 0500-0509, 0583, 0660-0669, 0906-0907, 0931-0932, 1000-1006, 2100-2109, and 3100-3109 with bill types 0120-012Z, 0130-013Z, or 0140-014Z to identify at-risk submissions; (2) update billing software editing rules to flag or prevent submission of these revenue code and bill type combinations for Georgia Medicaid claims; (3) train providers and billing staff on correct revenue code and bill type pairing requirements; (4) review state guidelines (referenced in policy) to ensure compliant coding alternatives are identified.
