Summary
Effective January 1, 2024, Healthfirst resumed direct management of prior authorization requests for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Podiatry Services, and Vascular Surgery - these services must now be submitted to Healthfirst instead of OrthoNet. Pain Management and Spinal Surgery continue to require prior authorization through OrthoNet.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must redirect all prior authorization requests for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Podiatry Services, and Vascular Surgery from OrthoNet to Healthfirst Provider Portal at hfproviderportal.org. Create accounts if needed by selecting 'Create your account'. Use Online Authorization tab to submit requests. Update workflow documentation to reflect that Pain Management and Spinal Surgery continue using OrthoNet. Train staff on new submission process to avoid authorization delays.
