Summary
Effective March 1, 2024, Healthfirst CompleteCare and Senior Health Partners will no longer cover non-emergency medical transportation as part of their plan benefits due to NYS DOH transportation carve-out initiative. Members must now arrange transportation through NYS Medical Answering Services (MAS), though CompleteCare still covers ALS/BLS through Modivcare.
Action Required
By March 1, 2024: Front desk and care coordination staff must stop arranging non-emergency medical transportation through Healthfirst CompleteCare and Senior Health Partners. Direct patients to contact MAS at medanswering.com or call 1-844-666-6270 (NYC/Nassau/Westchester) or 1-866-932-7740 (Orange/Rockland/Sullivan). For CompleteCare ALS/BLS needs, continue using Modivcare at 1-866-533-0707. Update patient handouts and staff procedures to reflect new transportation contact information.
