Summary
Oklahoma SoonerCare (Medicaid) now covers doula services for pregnant and postpartum members effective July 1, 2023. Members are eligible for up to 8 prenatal/postnatal visits plus 1 labor & delivery visit with a medical practitioner referral.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team should identify if practice has pregnant/postpartum Oklahoma Medicaid patients who might benefit from doula services. Providers should be informed they can now refer eligible SoonerCare members to certified doulas. Update patient education materials to include information about this new covered benefit.
