Summary
Kentucky Medicaid is changing how hospitals submit medical records for DRG retrospective audits, moving from a paper-based process to digital submission methods including secure FTP, fax, and password-protected CDs. Audit request letters will still be mailed but will also be available electronically through KY Health Net.
Action Required
Before February 1, 2021: Hospital billing and medical records teams must verify correspondence address is correct in Partner Portal by calling (877) 838-5085. Set up secure FTP access by contacting KYDRG@Carewisehealth.com. Contact Gainwell Technologies at 1-800-205-4696 for instructions on accessing DRG audit letters through KY Health Net. Update audit response procedures to use new submission methods: secure FTP, fax to (833) 670-1560, or mail password-protected CDs to Carewise Health in Louisville.
