Summary
Kentucky Medicaid has extended the deadline for SUD residential and inpatient treatment providers to obtain ASAM Level of Care Certification until July 1, 2022, due to COVID-19 impacts. Providers must submit applications by July 1, 2021 and complete maintenance applications in the Kentucky Medicaid Partner Portal once certified.

By July 1, 2021: SUD residential and inpatient providers must submit ASAM LOC Certification applications to CARF and notify DMS.Issues@ky.gov with subject line 'ASAM LOC Certification Application' if not yet obtained. By July 1, 2022: Complete maintenance application in Kentucky Medicaid Partner Portal (KY MPPA) once ASAM certification is obtained.
