Summary
Kentucky Medicaid now requires SUD residential/inpatient providers to obtain DMS Provisional Certification or ASAM Level of Care Certification to enroll starting July 1, 2022. Procedure codes H0018 and H0019 are no longer billable and must be replaced with appropriate ASAM LOC procedure codes.
Action Required
By July 1, 2022: SUD residential/inpatient providers must stop billing H0018 and H0019 codes. Update billing system to use appropriate ASAM Level of Care procedure codes instead. Providers must obtain DMS Provisional Certification by submitting attestation to DMS.Issues@ky.gov before enrollment can be approved. New providers and existing providers opening new residential locations cannot bill without certification.
