Summary
Kentucky Fee-For-Service Medicaid is transitioning from Magellan Rx to MedImpact as the Pharmacy Benefit Manager effective January 1, 2024. All prior authorization requests for prescriptions must now be submitted to MedImpact through new electronic portals, fax numbers, and phone systems.
Action Required
By January 1, 2024: All staff must update prescription prior authorization workflows for Kentucky Fee-For-Service Medicaid patients. Update EMR systems to use new MedImpact ePA portals (CenterX, CoverMyMeds, or Surescripts). Replace old Magellan contact information with new MedImpact contacts: PA phone 877-403-6034, PA fax 858-357-2612. Register for new Kentucky Provider Portal at https://kyportal.medimpact.com/. Download new Universal PA Forms from the portal. Failure to use new system will result in PA request delays and potential prescription denials for patients.
