Summary
Kentucky Medicaid requires Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for home health, private duty nursing, and Model II waiver services starting January 1, 2024. Effective January 1, 2025, any home health care services claims without corresponding EVV documentation will be automatically denied.
Action Required
By January 1, 2025: Home health providers (PT 34), private duty nursing providers (PT 18), and Model II waiver providers (PT 41) must implement Electronic Visit Verification using either the state-sponsored Therap system or a third-party system that integrates with Therap EVV aggregator. Billing team must ensure all home health care services claims have corresponding EVV documentation before submission. Claims without EVV verification will be denied.
