Summary
Anthem is terminating as a Medicaid MCO in Kentucky effective January 1, 2025. All Anthem Medicaid members will be automatically reassigned to either Humana or United Healthcare MCOs, but existing Anthem prior authorizations will be honored by the new MCOs.
Action Required
By December 31, 2024: Billing team must identify all Kentucky Medicaid patients currently enrolled in Anthem MCO and determine their new MCO assignment (Humana or United Healthcare). Update patient insurance information in billing system by January 1, 2025. Verify network status with new MCOs as claims may be paid at non-participating rates if not in network. Continue submitting claims to Anthem for services rendered before January 1, 2025 (up to 365 days from date of service).
