Summary
Washington State Medicaid (Apple Health) introduced new modifiers for audio-only telehealth services and implemented new place of service codes (POS 10 for telehealth, revised POS 02) for telemedicine billing. Providers can begin using POS 10 immediately for dates of service from January 1, 2022, with mandatory implementation by April 4, 2022.

Update system with new audio-only service modifiers per federal guidelines. Review and update telehealth billing procedures using the updated HCA billing guides for specific service types (ABA, behavioral health, clinical, diabetes education, family planning, PT/OT/speech therapy).
